I was privileged to attend a 3-day training seminar in Revit in Vancouver beginning February 16, 2011. In the company of two other staff, our office sent us to become adept if not expert in the use of this software. The training seminar was conducted by a leading REVIT/BIM technology firm offering package services to architectural and AEC offices in Vancouver and the rest of British Columbia. We were fortunate enough to have an expert Revit instructor who apaprently knows the’ ins’ and ‘outs’ of Revit.
Revit is a Building Information Modeling software for Microsoft Windows, developed by Autodesk. It allows the user to design with both parametric 3D modeling and 2D drafting elements. Building Information Modeling is a Computer Aided Design (CAD) paradigm that employs intelligent 3D objects to represent real physical building components such as walls and doors.
